WORKSHOP - Photographing a Model

  • Coldstream Community Centre Kelso Street Coldstream, Vic Australia (map)

A studio workshop with professional photographer Rocco Zampaglione. He will discuss his lighting setup, how to work with a model and shooting techniques. This will be a very practical workshop with Rocco bringing and setting up his equipment. And, we have a model to work with!

Rocco’s Bio
I was born in Melbourne to a migrant Italian family, and my dad introduced me to photography. His love for capturing moments inspired me, and I bought my first camera when I started working.I loved how much joy it brought my dad and the laughter and smiles it put on everyone's faces when he proudly showed off his images. When I started my first job, I bought my first Kodak camera and took photos of everything. I would emulate my dad as the family photographer, taking many bad photos and occasionally some good ones that went into the family photo album.

After backpacking through 50 countries, I studied photography in London and worked as a photographer for an independent record company. When I returned to Australia in 1997, life got in the way with kids and work commitments, and photography took a backseat. It was always there, but the digital age had taken over and film days were steeply declining. I didn't get back into photography until 2015.

Since then, I have won over 300 international awards and had my work published in over 12 countries in several magazines worldwide. My passion and enthusiasm for photography is now stronger than ever and is now an integral part of me. I am rarely without a camera, and my favorite genre is portraits and people, telling a story through my art.
